Laravel or Next.js? Choosing a Stack for Your First Project

Both are great. The real questions: what kind of app are you building, and who will maintain it?

This question comes up in almost every developer community. The answer depends on the kind of app and your team's habits, not on whichever one is trending.

When the app is mostly forms and data

A point of sale, a school system, or an admin panel gets finished faster with Laravel: authentication, validation, and the database are built in and work together.

When the interface is highly interactive

Apps with a lot of in-browser interaction are more comfortable to build with Next.js, especially if your team already knows React.

The middle ground

Many projects use both: Laravel as the API and Next.js as the frontend. It is a powerful combination, but it means maintaining two projects at once.
